Ireland today

Two meetings in Ireland this afternoon, an all-hurdles card at Cork and a mixed meeting (5 flat races, two over hurdles and a bumper) at Naas. Aidan O´Brien saddles two runners in the 2yo maiden at the latter course, Lake Ontario with stable jockey Johnny Murtagh and Outrider (Seamus Heffernan) but we are more interested in the lovely Lacy Briefs (Kevin Prendergast/ Chris Hayes); the 2yo´s from this yard are currently in great form.

The hurdles race here at 16.50 can go to Pom Flyer (Francis Flood/ Barry Geraghty), who showed improved form to win last time out and can score again in slightly better company. Flood can also be on the scorecard at Cork with Slievecorragh (Marc Walsh) in the 2 1/4 mile race at 17.05, although he has been off the track since April. The 3 miler here at 16.35 can go to Ainama (Boots and Slippers Madden); the ex-Nicky Henderson performer has the best form and highest rating in the race, but has not run since the Punchestown Festival in April.
