Sandown, Doncaster and Warwick

three flat meetings this afternoon in the U.K., but by far the best sport is to be seen at Sandown, where there are two listed races on the card. The first, for 2yo´s over 5 furlongs at 15.50 CET, has only 5 runners and should be won by Zebedee (Richard Hannon/ Richard Hughes), who won his first two races in good style before finishing a very respectable fifth at Royal Ascot, in one of the best juvenile races of the season so far. That form should be good enough for him to score here. The other listed event is for 3yo´s and up over 10 furlongs at 17.00 and has attracted a very strong field, with several runners proven at group level. Stotsfold (Walter Swinburn) did in fact a Group Three over this CD last time out, and is clearly the class act here. However he has to give weight away all round, which will not be easy. The two Godolphin runners are dangerous at these weights - Once More Dubai (Alan Munro) and Prince Siegfried (Ted Durcan), while Confront (Sir Michael Stoute/ Ry an Moore) is another threat, although there is a possibility that he is best at a mile. However the big danger should be Fatanah (Marcus Tregoning/ Martin Dwyer), who as a 3yo filly gets all the allowances - which means a whopping 22 lbs from Stotsfold. She was only 6th in the Ribblesdale over 1 1/2 miles, but this trip is better.
At Doncaster we like the look of Mahadee (Clive Brittain/ Neil Callan) in the 7 furlongs handicap at 16.35. He came back to form with an easy win at Salisbury last time, for which he has a 6 lbs penalty today, but we think that he is up to it.
Another recent winner, and also penalised 6 lbs, is Wanchai Whisper (PR Hedger/ Andrew Heffernan) in the 5 1/2 furlongs handicap at 16.10 at Warwick. One can hardly say that she is unexposed ,as this 3yo is running today for the 23rd time(!), but she won so well at Windsor at the weekend that she could well go in again.
