Rest of Sandown

The rest of the Sandown card looks highly interesting, but very trappy for punters. The opening Group Three Coral Charge over 5 furlongs at 15.00 CET is another substandard event. Bould Mover (FJBrennan/ Graham Gibbns), one of two 3yo´s in the field of 6, was a close fifth in the King´s Stand at Royal Ascot on his only 2010 start and that form should be good enough. The ones to beat are Triple Aspect (William Haggas/ Liam Jones), who had no chance in the Golden Jubilee, and Group Therapy (Jeremy Noseda/ Shane Kelly), who made all to win last time at Beverley, but is moving up sharply in grade here.

Lady Darshaan (Stan Moore/ Jimmy Fortune) is top-rated in the listed race for 3yo fillies at 16.40, but we prefer the unbeaten Decorative (Michael Jarvis/ Philip Robinson), who now meets much sterner opposition, but can probably improve further. Virginia Hall (Sir Mark Prescott/ Seb Sanders) and top-weight Marie de Medici (Mark Johnston/ Kieren Fallon) also have their chances here.

Jarvis and Robinson can double up in the listed race over 2 miles at 17.15 with Opinion Poll, who has won 4 of his 6 races and is on an upward curve, However he would not want the ground to be too firm. Manighar (Luca Cumani/ Fallon) and top-weight Illustrious Blue (William Knight/ Jim Crowley) both look dangerous. The handicaps look as always extremely difficult. The mile race at 15.35 could lie between Acrostic (Cumani/ Fallon), last year´s winner, Set the Trend (Andrew Balding/ Fortune), just touched off at Epsom last time, and Opus Maximus (Royston Ffrench), one of four Mark Johnson entries. Ryan Moore is in great form at the moment and is always especially dangerous when riding for his father Gary; we therefore expect Water Gipsy to close in the 7 furlongs handicap for 3yo´s at 17.50.
