Today´s N.H. racing

There is jumps racing this afternoon at Kelso and this evening at Cheltenham and Huntingdon. Two German-breds that have each-way chances at Kelso are Solis (Peter Monteith/ Ryan Mania) in the novices handicap hurdle at 15.35 CET and Safin (Sue Bradburne/ Tom Messenger), who has bottom weight in the handicap hurdle at 18.25. Ryan Mania also has a good chance with Samidzat for Dianne Sawyer at 16.40.

Cheltenham stages an all hunter chase fixture this evening, with some large fields. The so-called champion hunters chase over 3 1/4 miles at 19.10 should mainly concern Templer and Theatre Diva; they met here recently when the latter came out on top, but the former can reverse the placings on these terms. On his old form Take the Stand would win this easily; he was runner-up in the Gold Cup here in 2005 and has put up many excellent performances at this track; however he is now 14 and his recent form is not so hot.

At Huntingdon, we expect Diablo (Nigel Twiston-Davis/ Paddy Brennan) to make the most of the weight he receives from Samurai Way (Venetia Williams/ Aidan Coleman) and take the novice chase at 18.55. Grenoli (John and Joe Cornwall) won in such staggering style at Southwell last week (the winning distance was 36 lengths!) that a 7 lbs penalty should not stop him from following up in the handicap chase at 20.40.
