Listed race at Windsor

As so often on a Monday, very poor racing today, with the listed race at 19.40 CET at Windsor´s evening meeting easily the best event of the day. However this is also not a great race, with only 5 runners. Beacon Lodge (Clive Cox/ Adam Kirby) was 5th to the smart Paco Boy at Sandown last time and this form should be good enough. Richard Hannon´s pair Ordnance Row (Richard Hughes) last year´s winner, and Vitznau (Ryan Moor) are next best.

Best betting race at Windsor is the 1 1/2 mile handicap for 3yo´s half an hour later. This looks wide open; High on a Hill (Silvester Kirk/ William Buick) won a similar race over this CD last time with some of these behind and can confirm the form, but Visualize (Sir Michael Stoute/ Moore) won his only start and looks capable of running well in much better company.

An interesting feature of the afternoon racing is that Barney Curley sends out two of his ex-Schlenderhan runners - Sommersturm (D. Queally) in an amateur riders handicap at 18.30 at Wolverhampton and Agapanthus (Tom Queally) in a handicap at 17.10 at Brighton. Both these two are now on a very low handicap mark, lthough backing runners from this stable is always a tricky business. Ar Brighton we also like course specialist Ocean Countess (Julia Feilden/ Cathy Gannon) in the mile handicap at 17.40, moving up in grade but still well treated, while Understory (Joe Fanning) looks the better of two Mark Johnston runners in the 3yo handicap at 17.50 at Redcar.
