Irish racing today

The Curragh stages a good flat meeting today with a group race and two listed events.Aidan O´Brien had a winner on Friday evening at Dundalk, but most of his runners so far have been a bit disappointing and one should be careful of backing them at very short odds, This applies to Irish Derby winner Fame and Glory (Johnny Murtagh), who runs with a Group One penalty in the listed race over 10 furlongs at 17.15. He is clearly the best horse in the field, but not really a betting proposition. Gan Amhras (Jim Bolger/ Kevin Manning) could be a dangerous opponent . He was after all 3rd to Sea the Stars in the 2,000 Guineas last year. while CD specialist Baron de´L (Eddie Harty/ Fran Berry) could be an interesting each-way bet at a big price. The same doubts apply to Alfred Nobel (O´Brien/ Murtagh) in the listed race for 3yo´s at 15.45, who also has a Group One penalty for winning the Phoenix Stakes last July. Foolish Ambition (David Wachman/ Seamus Heffernan) and the Aga Khan ´s Keredari (John Oxx/ Fran Berry) are preferred here. Jumbajukiba (Jessica Harrington/ Willie Supple) is a specialist for 7 furlongs here on heavy ground and has conditions to his liking in the Gladness Stakes at 16.45. Libano (Dermot Weld/ Pat Smulln) holds Rayeni (Oxx/ Berry) on their form last autumn and looks the main danger.

Betting forecast:
1. Race: Oracle - Radharcnafarraige - Samuel Morse
2. Race: Alfred Nobel - Keredari - Song Of My Heart
3. Race: Harrington - Celtic Soprano - Silent Decision
4. Race: Rayeni - Libano - Vocalised
5. Race: Fame And Glory - Gan Amhras - Dixie Music
6. Race: Bean Uasal - Enigma Code - Liberty Island
7. Race: Is Feidir Linn - Captainofthefleet - Princeton Plains

There is also N.H. racing at Limerick, were the main event is the Grade Two novice chase at 17.25. Jagoes Mills (Tom O´Leary/ Davy Russell) fell earlier in the week at Fairyhouse, but if he is none the worse for that, can score here. Willie Mullins has good chances of taking the hurdle race at 15.55 with Knockabooly (despite a very long absence) and the mares hurdle an hour later with Killultagh Queen; Ruby Walsh is down to ride them both, but a new jockey will now have to be found, as Ruby broke his arm in a fall at Aintree yesterday and will be out of action for several weeks.

Betting forecast:
1. Race: The Cockney Squire - Force Of Habit - King Eloi
2. Race: Uncle Tom Cobley - Wilde Wit Pleasure - Knocknabooly
3. Race: Judge Roy Bean - Kusadasi - Hellyhunter
4. Race: Killultagh Queen - Guzzle An Go - Maryiver
5. Race: Jagoes Mills - Across The Bay - Caim Hill
6. Race: Hidden Universe - Under The Arch - Si C`Etait Vrai
7. Race: Jack Absolute - Good Decision - Money Belt
