All-weather racing at Kempton and Wolverhampton

Today´s all-weather action comes from Wolverhampton in the afternoon and Kempton in the evening. At the former track, we hope to see Tomintoul Star (Ruth Carr/ Andrew Elliott), slightly unlucky last week, take the fillies maiden at 17.00 CET, but Mark Johnston´ s Floridita (Greg Fairley) looks a dangerous newcomer here; she is out of German classic winner Rose of Zollern. The 7 furlongs handicap at 17.10 is the best race here, and Smalljohn (Byan Smart/ Tom Eaves) can land a CD hat-trick at the main expense of Mel Brittain´s Steel Stockholder (Jimmy Quinn), also a CD winner last time out.

However the most interesting all-weather event is the mile handicap at 2.45 at Kempton. In an unusual move, Starluck (Alan Fleming/ Liam Keniry), a top-class hurdler who was narrowly beaten here when last seen by Go Native- favourite for the Champion Hurdle) finishes his Cheltenham preparation here. He has to give weight to some useful performers, but could be up to the task.
