Lingfield (a.w.) today

The only flat racing in the U.K. today is on the all-weather track at Lingfield and we expect Mark Johnston, who won with his only runner here yesterday, to repeat this feat with Pentominium (Joe Fanning) in the mile maiden at 16.10 CET. The obvious, indeed only, danger would appear to be Sunley Spinalonga (David Elsworth/ Declan Cannon), runner-up the last twice, including this CD, while Pentominium has only run once - in a much better race on turf in September.

Best race here is the mile handicap at 16.40, in which almost any of the 9 runners could win. Top-weight Pegasus Again (Robert Mills/ Fanning) was a CD winner when last seen in December and should again hold Den´s Gift (Clive Cox/ Adam Kirby), runner-up then, but Red Somerset (Ron Hodges/ George Baker) and Trafalgar Square (Mike Attwater( David Probert) are just two of several dangers. The fillies handicap over 10 furlongs at 18.10 looks between the two top-weights Make Amends (Hodges/ Baker) and Head First (Willie Jarvis/ Probert), with slight preference for the latter.

Betting forecast:
1. Race: Yemeni Princess - Cashpoint - Gordon Road
2. Race: Tuscan King - Underworld Dandy - Magic Spirit
3. Race: Pentominium - Sunley Spinalonga - In A Fortnight
4. Race: Pegasus Again - Den`S Gift - Red Somerset
5. Race: Monashee Rock - Castleburg - Lady Kent
6. Race: Muktasb - Tamino - Spoof Master
7. Race: Make Amends - Granny Mcphee - Head First
