Final day of Cagnes sur Mer meeting

Today is the last day of the big Riviera winter meeting with several more good German chances. Enzio (Werner Baltromei (Dominique Boeuf), an easy winner earlier in the week, turns out again in the first race at 13.35, but meets better opposition this time. He should however be placed, but Baltromei probably has a better winning chance in the handicap an hour later, wheh he saddles two runners Tiger Village (Boeuf) and Astronom (Ioritz Mendizibal). Arriba Arriba (Eddy Hardouin), who runs in the 3yo mile handicap at 16.15 is another Baltromei entry, although she runs under the Fertillet name, and also has a good each way chance. Vianello (Peter Schiergen/ Boeuf) has been twice placed here and should again be in the money in the 3yo claimer at 16,50, while Black Out (Wolfgang Figge/ Karoly Kerekes) is the best German horse running today. He meets strong opposition in the 1300 metres conditions race at 17.20, the very last race of the meeting, but if he is in peak form should hav e a good chance.

There are no German-trained runners in the two main events, both listed races, but there should be a victory for German breeding in the Grand Prix du Conseil General des Alpes Maritimes, as La Boum (Robert Collet/ Thomas Huet) stands out on form and ratings. The Monsun mare was bred by Gestüt Karlshof and was a very easy winner of her trial for this race.
