Thurles (Ireland) and Wolverhampton (a.w.)

Main event at the Irish N.H. meeting at Thurles (carried over from last week) is the Grade Three chase over 2 1/4 miles at 14.55. For a graded race, this is not particularly strong field and it could go to Moskova (Paul Nolan/ Ruby Walsh). Walsh can do no wrong at the moment and can also win the beginners chase at 14.25 on Willie Mullins´ Kempes and the handicap chase at 16.05 on his father´s Seabass. Larkwing (Eric McNamara/ RJ Jones) won well last time and can follow up off a very light weight in the 2 3/4 mile chase at 15.55.

Wolverhampton´s all-weather card this afternoon is very low standard, and surprisingly 5 of the 7 races are restricted to 3yo´s. With some very small fields and little form to go on, most of these races are not punter-friendly. Rock a Doodle (William Jarvis/ Jean-Pierre Guillambert) finished strongly when runner-up last time and can go one better in the 9 1/2 furlongs handicap at 16.20 CET, and the same jockey can complete a double on David Evans´ Tuscan King in the claimer over an extended mile half an hour later, though neither is likely to start at attractive odds.
