Folkestone and Southwell

Two very modest N.H. cards today at Folkestone and Southwell with some very small fields, especially at the former track. 6 are entered in the novice handicap chase there at 15.10, which looks a match between Rince Donn (Roger Curtis/ Mark Grant) and She´s Humble (Linda Jewell/ Andrew Thornton), who won a similar race at the weekend and can complete a quick double. Tony McCoy is riding here and can possibly take the 4yo hurdle at 15.40 on hurdling debutant Open Day and the 3 mile handicap chase at 16.40 on Rapid Increase, an easy winner last time, both trained by Jonjo O´Neill.

Ar Southwell, the two divisions of the novice hurdle could be the most interesting races. Crystal Rock (Nicky Henderson/ Felix de Giles) is clearly not the brightest star in his large stable but could still be good enough to take the first division at 14.00, while Tocca Ferro (Emma Lavelle/ Jack Doyle) ran well, despite making mistakes, in better company last time and can win the second division half an hour later. Two German-breds that could run well here, especially if the going is not too soft, are Bright Sparky (Mick Easterby/ Oliver Greenall) in the handicap chase at 14.30 and Königsbote (Mrs. Leech/ Paddy Brennan) in the handicap hurdle at 16.30.
