Cagnes sur mer today

The Cagnes sur mer meeting continues today and for a change the most interesting races are on the turf track. Main event is the conditions race over 2400 metres at 15.05, a trial for the big race of the meeting. In theory this should go to the 7yo Monsun mare La Boum (Robert Collet/ Thoms Huet) who has been running in good races and was an excellent 7th in the Arc.

The improving Wysiwyg Lucky (JL Gay/ Stephane Pasquier), who finished last season with 3 wins, looks the main danger. German hope Limatus, last seen when runner-up in the Langer Hamburger last June, faces a stiff task and this distance is probably too short for him. A more plausible German winner, especially considering the good stable form, is Werner Baltromei´s Mariston (Dominique Boeuf) in the 2150 metres claimer at 16.10.
