Lingfield (a.w.) and Warwick (N.H.)

8 races at Lingfield this afternoon, but the first 7 are class 6 and thé first 4 for 2yo s. Clearly there are no better juveniles running at this time of year, but on what we have seen so far, Spice Fair (Mark Usher/ Lee Newnes) and Calculus Affair (Jeremy Noseda/ Shane Kelly) have good chances of taking the two divisions of the 2yo maiden at 13.30 CET and 14.00 respectively. The 7 furlongs handicap at 16.30 is the best race of the day, and seems to lie between the consistent top-weight Autumn Blades (Alan Bailey/ David Probert) and Poppanan (Simon Dow/ Tony Culhane), third here last time to the smart Imprimis Tagula (winner again since).
The quality on offer is not much better at Warwick, although there are some quite decent performers in the beginners chase at 14.20. Leo´s Lucky Star (David Pipe/ Tony McCoy) was the best of these over hurdles, winning 6 races, and if he can transfer this ability to fences can win at the main expense of ex-French Epidavros (Alan King/ Robert Thornton) and Quartz de Thaix (Venetia Williams/ Aidan Coleman), 3rd over this CD last time. Pipe can follow up in the handicap hurdle half an hour later with top-weight Peut etre Sivola (Giles Hawkins) while Alan King, who seems to be coming back to form, can take the mares novice hurdle at 15.20 with Miss Overdrive (Thornton).
