Ayr abandoned

Ayr`s clerk of the course Hazel Peplinski had "no choice" but to abandon Monday`s fixture due to a frozen track. The decision to abandon their last fixture of the year was made on Sunday afternoon following a sharp frost on Saturday night left the track unfit to race, with a similar forecast for last night as well.

Peplinski said: "It got down to -4C on Saturday night and never rose above freezingall afternoon, the divots from the last meeting are rock solid and the forecast tonight is much the same, so we had no chance what so ever. "There is no point delaying the inevitable and hopefully the weather will be on our side when we race next on January 2."
