All-weather racing at Southwell and Wolverhampton

There is all-weather racing this afternoon at Southwell as well as an early-evening meeting at Wolverhampton. Easily the best race is the class 2 handicap over 9 furlongs at the latter course at 19.00 CET. This is a pretty hot event with 11 runners, 2 of them trained in Ireland - top-weight Monteriggioni (J. Geoghegan/ Emmett McNamara) and Grand Opera (Gordon Elliott/ Declan McDonogh), both of whom ran well at Dundalk last time. Best of the Brits could be Mr. Willis (John Best/ Steve Drowne), who has won 6 of his last 7 races, but has never yet raced at this track, and Bound by Honour (Gary Moore/ George Baker), an easy last time winner. Waldvogel (Luca Cumani/ Kieren Fallon), out of the top-class German mare Wurftaube, needs to improve to figure here. At Southwell, course specialist Mozayada (Mel Brittain/ Robert Winston) should win the mile handicap at 16.00. She won 4 races over this CD last winter and looks as he she is coming back to form.
