Flat racing at Catterick and Kempton (e.w.)

Tody´s flat racing in Brtain is very low quality, but it would come as no surprise to see the all-powerful Godolphin stable, now in red hot form (and a close second this morning in the Melbourne Cup) win with both their runners on the all-weather at Kempton- Bab al Salam in the 10 furlongs handicap at 16.50 CET and Hajoum in the 6 furlongs handicap half an hour later. Both will be ridden by Ted Durcan. Much interest will still be centred on the struggle between Freddie Tylicki (67 winners so far) and David Probert (66) for this seasons´s apprentice title. Probert is at Kempton, where his best chance is Lithaam for Milton Bradley at 15.50 (although wee think Mick Channon´s back-to-form Malapropism might be the better bet), while Tylicki is at Catterick, where Alan Berry´s Grissom at 16.10 could be his best chance. Grissom was twice runner-up last week, including this CD, and meets his conqueror Conry on 6lbs better terms for half a length. Tylicki also has prospects on Pat Edd ery´s Outrageous Request in the maiden race at 16.40, but this one has only run once in the past 6 months, and John Gosden´s pair Bruton Street (Robert Havlin) and Time Book (Nicky Mackay) as well as William Haggas´ (Paul Hanagan) could be sharper.
