All-weather racing at Lingfield, Kempton and Dundalk

Chris Wall´s Wake up Call (Jack Mitrchell) looks the best bet at Lingfield this afternoon. The lightly-raced 3yo was an easy winner last time, and although that was no great race, he should still be good enough to dispose of the mainly exposed opposition in the 6 furlongs handicap at 14.00 CET.

The best betting race here is the mile handicap at 16.10, and Kieren Fallon can make his trip pay off by winning this on Gay Kelleway´s Hawaana before travelling on to the evening meeting at Kempton, where he can take the 2yo handicap at 21.20 on Luca Cumani´ s Blue Lyric. Best race here is the 5 furlongs handicap at 19.50, with numerous course and distance specialists. Lesley´s Choice (Roger Curtos/ Frankie McDonald) and Bahamian Lad (Reg Hollinshead/ Jerry O´Dwyer) are well drawn and appear to be two of the likelier candidates. At the evening Irish meeting at Dundalk, Johnny Murtagh can finally wrap up the Irish jockeys´ championship for 2009, as he has a better book of rides than rival Pat Smullen. Ger Lyons´ Wit and Wisdom at 19.30, Michael Grassick´s Majestic Pearl at 21.00 and Tony Martin´s Avanti Albert half an hour later, all seem to have good chances, while we expect Willie Mullins and Paul Townend (better known for their N.H. exploits) to take the main event at 22. 00 with Mourad.
