N.H. racing at Newcastle, Stratford and Clonmel (Ireland)

No real stars on view at today´s 3 N.H.meetings, but the best sport is at Stratford, where Star of Angels (David Pipe/ Tom Scudamore) looks a good thing to win the maiden hurdle over 2 3/4 miles at 17.20 CET; he has not run since the Aintree Grand National meeting, but has been running against much stronger opposition than he meets today. Also at Stratford, Tony McCoy can land a double for Jonjo O´Neill with Present Sale, top-weight in the 3 1/2 mile handicap chase at 15.50, and Get Me out of Here in the novice hurdle at 16.20. The maiden hurdle at 15.00 looks the most intersting race on a modest card at Newcastle. 16 line up, including Gala Casini Star and Grazeon Gold, both consistent handicappers on the flat making their debuts over sticks, Donny Briggs, quite a useful bumper, and Mr. Gossip, who has already run respectably over hurdles. At Clonmel, Vic Ventura (Dessie Hughes/ Paddy Flood) can take the main event, a 2 1/2 mile chase at 15.45, while Ruby Walsh can win the h andicap hurdle at 15.15 on his father´s Cantrel. German-bred Diophas would have a chance in the beginners chase at 16.45 based on his decent handicap form over hurdles, but as a son of Acatenango may not like the heavy going.
