U.K. racing today

after the excitement of yesterday´s St.Leger and other big races, today´s racing is a definite anti-climax and there are no better grade races at all at the 3 U.K. meetings. In fact Goodwood probably sets a record by staging a card consisting entirely of 8 class 4 handicaps. Mujood (Eve Johnson Houghton/ Andrew Heffernan) won over this CD on Tuesday and can follow up under top-weight at 17.55 CET. An interesting runner in the 2 mile race at 17.20 is the ex-German 8yo Absolut Power (Jonathan Geake/ Robert Havlin). The son of Acatenango last won 3 years ago and that was over hurdles; in fact he has never won in Britain on the flat, but will probably never find an easier opportunity than today. Another staying handicap is the best race of th day and that is run at 17.45 at Bath. Keenes Day (Mark Johnston/ Jean-Pierre Guillambert), who has been running in top races, appeals as the likely winner here; most of his opponents have been running over hurdles, notably David Pipe´s usefu l Raslan (Paul Hanagan), who is having his first flat outing for 2 years. Also at Bath, unbeaten Bab al Salam (Saeed bin Suroor/ Ted Durcan) can continue Godolphin´s hot run by winning the 3yo handicap over 10 furlongs under top weight at 18.30. Main attraction at Ffos Las today is Kieren Fallon, who has rides in all 6 races; his best chance of winning is probably Luca Cumani´s Paisley in the fillies handicap at 17.30.
