Irish racing today

There are 2 Irish meetings today - N.H. racing this afternoon at Kilbeggan (where the course passed an early morning inspection, but the going will be very testing) and this evening flat racing at Down Royal. Premier Victory (Tom Hogan/ Joe Cullen) has won her last 3 starts and can continue on her winning ways in the mares hurdle at 16.30 CET at Kilbeggan, where Age on Confusion (Ian Madden/ Ruby Walsh) can defy top-weight in the handicap chase at 18.00 after his good effort at the Galway festival. The most interesting event at Down Royal is the conditions race over 1 1/2 miles at 19.20. Ex-German Directa King (Dermot Weld/ Pat Smullen) is pretty useful but has been off the track for 14 months and it is in any case not certain that he can concede so much weight to the 3yo´s Trojan War (Aidan O´Brien/ Johnny Murtagh) and Dabirana (John Oxx/ Fran Berry).
