Ayr, Lingfield and Southwell

Once again very poor fare at today´s British meetings. At Lingfield, the first 3 races are on turf and the last 3 on the all-weather. The 2yo maiden on the a.w. at 16.50 CET is possibly the most interesting race. Brian Meehan holds a strong hand here with Rakaan (Martin Dwyer) and Blushing (Dane O´Neill), with obvious preference for the former, while Adele Blanc Sec (Tom Dascombe/ Richard Kingscote) looks the main danger. The 6 furlongs handicap at 17.50 looks very tricky, but we expect one of the3 last-time-out winners, Whisky Junction (Mick Quinn/ Liam Keniry), Tagula Night (Walter Swinburn/ Shane Kelly) or Comadoir (Jo Crowley/ Fergus Sweeney) to come out on top. At Southwell of course all races are on the all-weather.

The 2 mile handicap for 3yo´s at 18.00 is the top race here, and although there are only 6 runners, it looks quite open. Roger Charlton saddled a winner for the Queen yesterday, and possibly Sally Forth (Chris Catlin) can follow up, but we prefer Sir Mark Prescott´s improving Veiled (Seb Sanders). At Ayr, we like the chances of ex-German Raptor (Alan Jarvis/ Andrew Elliott) in the 7 furlongs handicap at 17.40, while Freddie Tylicki, out of luck yesterday, can score on Richard Fahey´s Faithful Ruler over 9 furlongs an hour earlier.
