Mood Music at Maisons-Laffitte

German-trained runners did well yesterday at Deauville and could be in the money again today at Maisons-Laffitte, where the main fature is the Grpoup Tjhree Prix du Ris-Orangis over 1200 metres. This is the target for Mario Hofer´s Mood Music (Maxime Guyon), who has so far raced mainly over 5 furlongs, but if he gets the extra distance, he must have a good chance here. Most of the opposition are familiar names in this grade, and English raider Strike the Deal (Jeremy Noseda/ Philip Robinson) could be the best of them. Hofer also saddles Kaliyan in th claiming race for lady jockeys at 17.35 with daughter Steffi in the saddle; at his best he would win this easily but his latest form has been poor. Werner Baltromei runs track specialist Omasheriff (Domninique Boeuf) in the tiercé handicap over 1200 metres at 14.50, but this trip may not be ideal; German-owned Hot Spot and ex-German Arc de Triomphe look dangerous here. Hans Blume teams up with Johan Victoiure in two claiming race s over 2100 metres, Winterkoenigin at 15.25 and Quadraga at 17.05, both of whom could finish in the money.
