Victoria Cup at Ascot

The Victoria Cup over the straight 7 furlongs at Ascot, run today at 15.15 CET, is one of the biggest betting races of the year and with 29 runners this edition is no exception. This looks wide open and with the effect of the draw unclear (if any), it looks very tricky. Best backed horse is Sir Mark Prescott´s Prescription (Seb Sanders), but our 3 against the field are Mr. Macattack (Nicky Vaughan/ Franny Norton), an easy winner twice on the all-weather, Evens and Odds (David and Adrian Nicholls), who scored in good style at Newmarket a week ago and penalised only 6 lbs, and Giganticus (Barry and Patrick Hills), who usually runs well at this track. The listed race at 14.05 which starts off the card looks booked for Duncan (John Gosden/ Jimmy Fortune), who beat a huge field at Epsom last time, although Zaham (Mark Johnston/ Tadg O´Shea) could be a danger if back to his best after a 13 month break. Jockey Jimmy Fortune must not only try to reach the winning post as fast as pos sible on Duncan, he also has to dash off afterwards to Lingfield, where he rides in the classic trials.

Betting forecast:
1. Race: Duncan - Zaham - Steele Tango
2. Race: Supaverdi - Secret Night - Feeling Fab
3. Race: Prescription - Evens And Odds - Zaahid
4. Race: Monsieur Joe - Little Perisher - Master Of Dance
5. Race: Casual Garcia - Swingkeel - Judgethemoment
6. Race: Seamus Shindig - Obe Gold - Masai Moon
