More Ascot Gold Cup clues in Ireland

There could also be some clues for the Ascot Gold Cup at this evening´s Leopardstown meeting, as the listed Saval Beg Stakes over 1 3/4 miles at 21.00 CET has been won in the past by such top Irish stayers as Yeats. With that one under a cloud, the Aga Khan´s unbeaten Alindi (John Oxx/ Mick Kinane) now seems the top Irish hope for Ascot and he is certain to be warm favourite tonight. He holds British raiders Hindu Kush and The Betchworth Kid on their last run here, but Robert Hennessy´s pair Sublimity (Seamus Heffernan) and Donegal (Declan McDonough) could prove troublesome, Both have been running over hurdles, and while Sublimity - Cheltenham winner 2 years ago!- was much the better in that department, he has not run on the flat for 4 years and Donegal is preferred. There is also racing this evening at Newcastle (flat) and Wetherby (N.H.), but no highlights at either track.

Betting forecast:
1. Race: Clashnacree - Reggae Dancer - Velvet Flicker
