German runners in France today

a good card at Maisons-Laffitte today, with German runners in both listed races. There is a field of 7 for the 3100 metres race at 15.50, including Le Miracle (Werner Baltromei/ Dominique Boeuf) and his half-brother Loup de Mer, who is now trained in France. At anywhere near his best, Le Miracle would win this, but it should be remembered that he was well below form last year. It is quite possible that Pointilliste and Americain will prove too strong for the 2007 Cadran winner today. However there is a good chance of a German victory in the 1800 metres race at 15.20 with Beltanus (Friedl Willenbrock/ Jerome Lermyte) and Thalamos (Peter Schiergen/ Andrasch Starke) in the line-up.This is quite an open race, and Gestüt Schlenderhan´s Iolith (Andre´Fabre/ Johan Victoire) also has possibilities. Baltromei also saddles King John (Boeuf) in the opening tierce´handicap over 2400 metres at 13.50.
