Folkestone, Kempton and Southwell

3 flat fixtures this afternoon, of which 2, Kempton and Southwell, are on the all-weather. The racing at Southwell is very modest with most of the races class 6, so it is surprising that Jamie Spencer rides there and he can land a double for trainer Michael Bell with Eddie Boy at 17.10 CET and Bubses Boy half an hour later. At Kempton, the best race is the mile handicap at 17.20, which looks wide open with 12 runners. The two top-weights Checklow (Jeremy Noseda/ Shane Kelly) and Samarinda (Pam Sly/ Micky Fenton) met in a similar race this CD recently, when they finished close up second and fourth respectively and they can perhaps go one or two places better now. Several in-form performers meet in the 2 mile handicap that closes the card at 18.20; Kavaloti loves this track and has won his last 2 races, both this CD, for Gary and Ryan Moore. He can win again at the main expense of Sir Mark Prescott´s Phoenix Flight (Seb Sanders), first or second his last 5 starts, and hat-trick seeking Bell Island (Lady Herries/ Richard Hughes), both of whose wins came over shorter at Lingfield. At Folkestone, Efistorm (Conor Dore/ Liam Keniry) and Our Piccadilly (Wilf Kittow/ Fergal Sweeny) renew rivalry in the 5 furlongs handicap at 17.00; they finished first and second at Windsor recently and the former can confirm the form on similar terms. Keniry also has two promising rides for Andrw Balding later, Isabellaonabicycle at 17.30 and Final Victory half an hour later.
