Cheltenham today

Another good card at Cheltenham with some really competitive racing. Th Queen´s Gold Award (Nicky Hmdrson/ Barry Geraghty) is one of several possibles in the opening novice hurdle at 15.10 CET. The listed mares handicap hurdle at 16.20 looks wide on. Top-wight Hora (Henderson/ Geraghty) has good form but faces a stiff task, while Argento Luna (Oliver Sherwood/ Tony McCoy), Caoba (Vic Dartnall/ Rhys Flint) and Markila (Henry Daly/ Andrew Tinkler) are super-consistent and all last-time-out winners. The 3 mile handicap hurdle at 16.55 is even trickier. Several of the 24 runners ran in the Pertemps Final at the big meeting here, where Kayf Aramis (Ventia Williams/ Aidan Coleman) was a narrow winner, with Pennek (Alan King/ Robert Thornton) a close third. Galient (Henderson/ Geraghty) was below form then but could run better today. Philip Hobbs and Richard Johnson had 2 winners here yesterday and their candidate Oscatello is a big danger, while Paul Nicholls and Ruby Walsh scored here with a lightly-raced handicap debutant and can possibly repeat the trick with The Gossmoor Yank.
