German runners at Saint-Cloud

Peter Schiergen´s Emporio has already won twice at Saint-Cloud and returns to the Paris track today to contest the claiming race over 2100 metres at 14.20. He is rated the best horse in the field but has a huge weight, and for that reason French claimer Jerome Claudic has been booked. The opposition includes two ex-German runners, Girofolo and Ardbeg, both winners last-time-out, and they look the main dangers. Another ex-German runner is Australian Fighter, still owned by Stall Australia, who runs in the opening 3100 metres tiercé handicap at 13.50 with Davy Bonilla in the saddle. Although he has been a bit disappointing on his recent starts, he must have good each-way chances in this company.
