French racing today

After Saint-Cloud yesterday, the top French jumps track at Auteuil is the next Paris racecourse to open its gates for 2009, and it could be that Cologne trainer Peter Schiergen, who took yesterdays tiercé handicap with Thalamon, can be back in the winner´s enclosure with Marzipan (Paul Johnson), who is entered in the claiming hurdle race over 3600 metres at 15.20. There are large fields and this race is no exception with 16 runners, but Marzipan at his best would have a solid each-way chance.
