Great Leighs only UK racing today

today´s jumps fixture at Carlisle has been abandoned, leaving the all-weather meeting at Great Leighs the only British racing today; tomorrow´s jumps meeting at Plumpton has also been abandoned, while there will be an inspection at Fakenham. However some jumps racing tomorrow seems assured, as Punchestown´s abandoned Saturday meeting will be re-staged then. With warmer weather expected, there should be fewer problems with U.K. racing from Tuesday on. Best race at Great Leighs today is the class 4 handicap over 6 furlongs at 15.30 CET. Top-weights Dvinsky (Paul Howling/ Jimmy Quinn) and First Order (Ann Stokell) were both runners-up in this grade a few days ago and can fight out the finish. Best bet at the meeting in our view is Bavarica (Julia Feilden/ Toby Atkinson) who can defy top-weight in the apprentice handicap over 10 furlongs at 17.35. He won nicely with this jockey last time out and the trainer is on a roll. Sir Mark Prescott´s well-bred Rough Sketch (Rosie Jessop) i s coming off a very long break, but could be a danger.

Betting forecast:
1.Race: Blockley - Generous Star - Sarando
2.Race: Auld Arty - Dance And Dance - Green Onions
3.Race: Dvinsky - First Order - Epic Odyssey
4.Race: Sotik Star - Singleb - Vogarth
5.Race: Tarkamara - Lady Aspen - Aggbag
6.Race: Samson Quest - The Power Of Phil - Bad Moon Rising
7.Race: Bavarica - Rough Sketch - Gizmondo
