Folkestone goes ahead

The weather has improved slightly, and there should now be no problems for today´s jumps meeting at Folkestone. There should be a German-bred winner today, as Quartano (Carl Llewellyn/ Tom O´Brien) certainly ought to win the maiden chase at 14.35 CET. The half-brother to classic-placed Quadrupa faces very moderate opposition, and although he is coming off a 9 months break, in theory only needs to jump round safely to win. Another likely short-priced winner is Aux le Bahnn (Noel Chance/ Richard Johnson) who can defy his penalty in the novice hurdle over 2 3/4 miles half an hour later; Blistering (Alan King/ Robert Thornton), a useful bumper, looks the only conceivable danger. Most interesting race on the card is the beginners chase over 3 miles 1 furlong at 15.35. with several horses engaged that are expected to make the grade over fences. Mendo (Noel Chance/ Tom Siddall), Fair Point (Charlie Mann/ Paul Moloney) and Bluegun (Philip Hobbs/ Richard Johnson) are three of them.
