Other N.H. racing today

Unfortunately Newcastle (and the high profile Fighting Fifth Hurdle) has had to be abandoned following heavy frost, but there is still some good jumping at Wexford and Fairyhouse in Ireland, and Towcester in Britain. Fairyhouse has the best card, featuring two graded races, both valuable handicaps. The 3 mile 5 furlongs handicap chase at 15.35 obviously cannot be compared to the Hennessy, but still has several of Ireland´s better stayers entered. Alickadoo (TJ Nagle/ SJ Gray) has won his last 3 races and is clearly much improved, but Willie Mullins´ Arbor Supreme (Paul Townend) could be the answer on his seasonal debut, with the stable now back in form. Mullins and Townend also team up in the 2 mile handicap hurdle with Sesenta, but Solwhit (Charlie Byrnes/ Tom Doyle) looks the logical choice here; he has won 2 of his 3 hurdles starts and last time out was an impressive winner of a valuable flat handicap. On the undercard, the most interesting runner could be ex-German Maremo tto (Tom Hogan/ David Casey) in the maiden hurdle at 14.30. At Wexford there are 4 races over hurdles followed by 2 Irish N.H. flat races. Another ex-German runner here is Forever Free (WM Roper/ Barry cashj), a listed winner at Baden-Baden in 2004, but now having his first run for over 2 years. At Towcester, Coda Agency (David Arbuthnot/ Timmy Murphy), a beaten favourite last time, can recover losses in the 3 mile handicap hurdle at 15.30.
