Irish racing today

There are 3 Irish meetings today, at Leopardstown, Limerick and Down Royal in N. Ireland, but the best racing comes from Leopardstown, where there are two Grade One races. The juvenile hurdle at 14.30 CET should concern only Lethal Weapon (Christy Roche Alan Crowe) and Tharawaat (Gordon Elliott Davy Russell), but the novice chase at 15,25 looks much more open, although British raider Tatenen (Paul Nicholls Sam Thomas) seems certain to start a short priced favourite. A feature of the card is that flat jockey Richard Hughes has several rides for his father Dessie, the best of which could be German bred Noble Prize in the handicap hurdle at 14.50, The huge field also includes another ex/German son of Acatenango in Dalian, who however has been off the track for almost 2 years. Main event at Limerick is the Grade Two novice chase at 15.15, where 6 of the 10 runners are last time out winners. An interesting runner on the umndercard here is ex/German Le Marquis (Tony Martin Robbie Colgan), who fell last time out, but could run well at a big price in the beginners chase at 16.20 as long as he stays on his feet.
