German runners in France today

Once again the French continue their experiment of staging 3 PMU meetings on a Thursday with staggered starts. Thus the first race today at Bordeaux-le-Boscat (6 flat races, 2 N.H.) is at 12.35, followed by trotting starting at 13.50 from Vincennes and more flat racing under floodlights from Amiens, first race at 16.35. There are several German-trained runners at Amiens, with French Kiss (Norbert Sauer/ Henk Grewe) and Ying (Ralf Rohne/ Yohann Bourgois) both contesting the claiming race for 2yo´s at 17.05. Sauer and Grewe team up twice more with Asterio in the 3yo maiden over 2900 metres at 18.05 and Pennekar over the same distance at 18.35, while Rohne and Bourgois are also represented in the 2200 metres race for "young jockeys" at 20.05. Of these, Asterio has in our opinion the best chance, while Miroslav Rulec´s Atlantic Racer (Mathias Sautjean) also has good prospects in the 3yo race over 1650 metres at 17.35.
