All-weather action at Southwell and Wolverhampton.

Flat racing on the all-weather this afternoon at Southwell and this evening under floodlights (if they function properly this time) at Wolverhampton. The racing is pretty undistinguished, but is certainly unusual to find John Gosden saddling a horse in Princess Haya´s colours in a class 6 2yo maiden at this track in mid-November, but that is the case with Hometown (Jimmy Fortune) at 14.50 CET and he is likely to start a red-hot favourite. The mile handicap at Southwell at 16.00 should mainly concern the two last-time.out winners Kimono my House (James Given/ Rosie Jessop) and Smarty Socks (PT Midgley/ Jamie Moriarty), and if the latter wins that would be a pointer to the chances an hour later of Whitbarrow (Rod and James Millman), who was runner-up to him here 10 days ago and has a good course record; top-weight Cool Sands (James Given/ Jean-Pierre Guillambert) is the one to beat.

Betting forecast:
1.Race: Silent Wonder - Positivity - Dedante
2.Race: Veloso - Sudden Impulse - La Estrella
3.Race: Red Cell - Lujeanie - Katie Higgins
4.Race: Hometown - Majestic Bull - Statute Book
5.Race: Jonah`S Cruising - Svindal - Hollow Green
6.Race: Smarty Socks - Kimono My House - Greek Theatre
7.Race: Ice Bellini - Jetta Joy - Elaala
8.Race: Cool Sands - Whitbarrow - Efisio Princess

At Wolverhampton, 5 of the 7 races are class 6, but the two exceptions are both interesting events. The 5 furlongs handicap at 20.50 has 12 runners, many of them CD specialists; Harry Up (Kevin Ryan/ Jamie Spencer), Timber Trasure (Paul Green/ Franny Norton) and Mambo Spirit (James Given/ Tom Queally), unliucky last time, are 3 for the short list. Clive Brittain´s improving 3yo Intabih (Eddie Ahern) looks a ready-made favourite for the 9 1/2 furlongs handicap at 21.20, the best race of the day, after easily winning his last 2 races, including this CD. Top-weight Suits Me (Tom Tate/ Micky Fenton) and Final Verse (Taffy Salaman/ Liam Keniry) head the list of dangers.

Betting forecast:
1.Race: Wakita - Keep Your Distance - Plush
2.Race: Welcome Approach - Lambency - One More Round
3.Race: Rosika - Debussy - Partner Shift
4.Race: Mambo Spirit - Harry Up - Best One
5.Race: Intabih - Suits Me - Final Verse
6.Race: Grand Palace - Littledodayno - Diminuto
7.Race: Kokkokila - My Mirasol - Squirtle
