Catterick, Folkestone and Leicester

Only very average racing at three flat race meetings in Britain, with the best sport coming from Leicester, where the class 2 handicap for 3y s over 1 1/2 miles at 17.,10 CET looks wide open, with almost every runner in with a chance. Trainer Michael Jarvis and his stable jockey Philip Robinson are in great form and their Torpichen, slightly unlucky last time, could start favourite, but they face strong opposition from such as Kingdom of Fife (Sir Michael Stoute/ Ryan Moore), Times Vital (Eoghan O´Neill/ Chris Catlin), Kossack (Luca Cumani/ Jamie Spencer) and King o´the Gypsies (Roger Charlton/ Frankie Dettori). There are only 5 runners in the 3yo race over 10 furlongs at 16.10, this looks quite a tricky contest but Mark Johnston´s Alcalde (Royston Ffrench) is bred to get this trip and can possibly maintain his unbeaten record.

Betting forecast:

6.Race: Belle Bellino - Doric Lady - Hurricane Harriet
7.Race: Bessie Lou - July Jasmine - Mezenah
8.Race: Pivka - Sirocco Breeze - Cotswolds

At Catterick, where 4 of the 7 races are for 2yo´s, top-weight Guto (Bill Ratcliffe/ Simon Walker) could be the answer to the 5 furlongs handicap for amateur riders at 15.30. Majuba (Kevin Ryan/ Paul Mulrennan), placed in his last 5 races, can possibly get his head in front in the first division f the 2yo maiden at 15.00.
