Brighton and Great Leighs

Brighton stages its last meeting of 2008 today, but the races are mainly of a low standard. The class 4 handicap over 6 furlongs at 16.05 CET is prbably the best race on the card. Rocker (Gary Moore/ Jim Crowley) is chasing a hat-trick here, but all his winning form is at 5 furlongs anhe is not certain to get this trip, while the two top-weights Mango Music (Mick Quinn/ Shane Kelly) and Peter Island (Jeff Gallagher/ Chris Catlin) are both CD winners and can therefore be preferred. The mile race for 2yo maidens half an hour later should lie between John Gosden´s Headline Act (Robert Havlin) and Mark Johnson´s Takeover Bid (Royston Ffrench), who both ran well last time. At the evening all-weather meeting at Great Leighs, Godolphin have two winning chances, both partrnered by Ted Durcan as Frankie Dettori is already in California - Dareh in the race for 2yo maiden fillies at 20.50 and Pink Ivory in the mile maiden for 3- and 4yo´s an hour later
