Breeders´ Cup Friday

there are 5 Breeders´ Cup races run on Friday evening, all of them restricted to fillies and mares. The opening Fillies and mares Sprint over 7 furlongs on Pro-Ride at 21.25 CET has only American fillies in the line-up, and the three likeliest winners here are Zaftig (James Jerkens/ R. Bejarano), Indian Blessing (Bob Baffert/ J Velasquez) and especially Ventura (Bobby Frankel/ Garrett Gomez), who has been heavily bvacked with British bookmakers. The Juvenile Fillies on Turf over a mile at 22.15 is a new event, but only two Euroipeas line up, both trained in Ireland, Tommy Stack´s Beyond Our Reach (Frankie Dettori) and Aidan O´Brien´s Heart Shaped (Johnny Murtagh), while best of the Americans is possibly Laragh (John Terranova/ Edgar Prado). The Juvenile Fillies on Pro-Ride over 8 1 /2 furlongs at 22.55 also has an Irish runner, David Wachman´s Pursuit of Glory (Murtagh), but the American filly Sky Diva (Steven Klesaris/ RA Dominguez) looks a big danger. The Fillies and Mares Turf over 10 furlongs at 23.35 os a race in which the Europeans have a good record, and there are three runners, all with chances: Visit (Sir Michael Stoute/ Ryan Moore), Folk Opera (Saeed bin Suroor/ Dettori) and classic winner Halfway to Heaven (O´Brien/ Murtagh). The last-named has the best rating, but is not cettain to get the trip and some of the O´Brien runners this month have shown signs of being tired after their hard season. Finally the Ladies Classic over 9 furlongs on Pro-Ride, another new event, has the banker of the meeting (at least, according to the locals) -. Zenyatta (John Shirreffs/ Mike Smith), easy winner of all her 6 starts this year and cettain to start at odds-on. Saeed bin Suroor has two runners, Cocoa Beach (RA Dominguez) and Music Note (J. Castellano), but both the Godolphin horses are in reality trained in the U.S.
