Haydock and Southwell (N.H.)

Southwell today stages one of its few N.H. cards today, and Jazz Dance (Charlie Mann/ Noel Fehily), who runs in the opening handicap chase at 14.50 CET is an absolute specialist for this track, having won here 3 times already this year. The beginners chase over 3 miles at 15.25 looks interesting. Scots Dragoon (Nicky Henderson/ Felix de Giles) was only just touched off on his chasing debut and is well-related, but the two with the best pedigrees arethe German-breds Ladino (Sheena West/ Mark Bradburne), a 3/4 brother to Lando, and Vivando (Charlie Egerton/ Tony McCoy), whose dam is a half-sister to Silvano and Sabiango. The maiden hurdle at 16.35 can go to The Hairy Butt (Evan Williams/ McCoy), a decent bumper who was beaten in a photo on his hurdles debut. The flat card at Haydock this afternoon is less exciting, but Darryll Holland has two promising rides with Gay Kelleway´ s Stringsofmyheart in the 1 3/4 miles seller at 17.20 and Michael Dods´ Major Magpie in the mile handi cap at 17.55. Both of them run their best races for this jockey, in fact Holland is unbeaten in 4 races on Major Magpie.
