Rest of U.K. and Ireland

There is also racing at Redcar this afternoon, Lingfield and Wayr this evening and also an Irish N.H. meeting at Kilbeggan, where 2 ex-German horses could run into the money: Simone Boccenagra (Gerard Cully/ Davy Condon) in the 3 miles handicap hurdle at 19.30 CET, and Dow Jones (Mike Halford/ Ruby Walsh) in the 2 1/2 mile handicap chase half an hour later. The handicaps at Redcar look very tricky, but Freddie Tylicki has two interesting possibilities with Handsome Falcon for Richard Fahey over 7 furlongs at 16.00, and Violent Velocity for John Quinn over the straight mile at 16.35. At Lingfield, where the first 3 races are run on the all-weather and the last 3 on turf, John Gosden´s Seminole (Robert Havlin) looks a good thing to take the 2yo maiden over a mile at 19.10 after finishing second on both his starts so far. At Ayr, the 2yo maiden over 6 furlongs at 19.20 looks a straight match between Aladdin´s Lamp (Mark Johnston/ Royston ffrench) and Jobe (Kevin Ryan/ Neil Callan), both expensive and well-bred yearlings who finished third on their debuts. The 10 furlongs handicap at Ayr at 20.50 looks much more open, but Peter Monteith holds a strong hand with the two top-weights Shy Glance (Ryan Mania) and Hawkit (Neil Brown)
