Ireland this evening

Two mixed meetings this evening in Ireland, both with 4 flat races, two over hurdles and a bumper. The best racing is at Cork, which starts off with a listed race over a mile, with quite a strong field. Aidan O´Brien has two runners here, Psalm (Seamus Heffernan) and Mystical Lady(Colm O´Donoghue), both winners last time out, but they face some strong opposition from Prima Luce (Jim Bolger/ Kevin Manning) and Navajo Moon (David Wachman/ Wayne Lordan), going for a listed race hat-trick, among others. Half an hour later there is a Group Three race for fillies over 1 1/2 miles and here Aidan O´Brien is mob-handed with 7 (!) of the 16 runners, best of whom is Johnny Murtagh´s mount Honoria. However Chinese White (Dermot Weld/ Pat Smullen) looks the one to beat, although Hasanka (John Oxx/ Mick Kinane) and Ezima (Bolger/ Manning) alsolook dangerous. An interesting runner at Wexford is the ex-German Heavenly Blues (Ted and Katie Walsh), who runs in an an amateur rders flat race over 2 miles at 19.55. He has put up several decent performances since moving to Ireland and ran an especially good race in a hot handicap at Galway last week, form which gives him an obvious chance here.
