handicaps at Goodwood

the best races at Goodwood this afternoon are handicaps, including the listed event for fillies over 10 furlongs at 16.20 CET. This looks very open race, though te obvious favourites are two inproving 3yo´s Crystal Capella (Sir Michael Stoute/ Jimmy Quinn) and Quirna (John Gosden/ Richard Mullen), both on a hat-trick after scoring twice very easily in lower grade. Top-weight Les Fazzani (Mark Wallace/ Shane Kelly) has been running in better company and is an each-way possibility. The Fegentri race for amateur riders over 9 furlongs at 16.55 could see both Geman lady riders involved - Vanessa Rodenbusch on Paul Cole´s Danetime Panther and Rebekka Unrath on Chris Kellett´s Admiral´s Way. William Haggas´ Maimoona (Martin Dwyer) was a very easy winner at Ripon last time and is the likely favourite for the 6 furlongs fillies handicap at 15.45, but Andrew Balding´s Sirens Gift Franny Norton) ran a good race when 9th of 27 in the Stewards Cup ove this CD and will appreciate this dro p in grade. The class 2 handicap over 7 furlongs at 17.30 is another tricky race, but perhaps Giganticus (Barry and Michael Hills), who has been running well without much success in these big handicaps all season, can finally come right this time.
