Gowran Park and Roscommon this evening

There is no racing in the U.K. this evening, but two Irish meetings - flat racing at Gowran Park and a N.H. fixture at Roscommon. The classiest horse on view is probably Aidan O´Brien´s Masterofthehorse (Johnny Murtagh), who is likely to start hot favourite for the mile maiden race for 2yo´s at 20.05 CET at Gowran Park. This half-brother to triple Oaks winner Alexandrova was a good runner-up on his debut and should now be able to outrclass Shakalaka (Kevin Prendergast/ Declan McDonogh) and co. Another likely odds-on favourite here is Jim Bolger´s Shreyas, a half-sister to Youmzain, who runs in the 9 1/2 furlongs maiden for 3- and 4y´s at 21.35. She was also a good runner-up, well clear of the third horse, on her only start so far. At Roscommon, Noel Meade, always to be feared with his young hurdlers, can take the hurdle race for unraced 3yo´s at 18.50 with Fist of God, who was the best of this large field on flat form. Paul Carberry is in the saddle and the same trainer-jockey combination can also click with Rocket Boy in the maiden hurdle for 6yo´s plus at 19.50. Keaveney (Willie Mullins/ Ruby Walsh) made a good comeback recently after a layoff and can take the beginners chase at 21.20.
