German runners at Clairefontaine

today´s Clairefontaine card of 5 flat and 4 jumps races is mainly very low level, with some large fields of basically moderate peformers. This is especially true of the first 2 races for 3yo maidens over 1800 metres, in both of which Werner Baltromei has a runner with Dominique Boeuf in the saddle. In the colts´ version at 13.50 he saddles Alpenadler and in the fillies´ race half an hour later Alpe d´Huez. An interesting opponent in the former race is Rolf Brunner´s Manaba (Andre Fabre/ Stephane Pasquier), a half-brother to Manduro, but apparently with none of his ability. There is also trotting this afternoon at La Capelle and this evening at Cabourg.
