Pontefract, Roscommon and Windsor

Racing this evening comes from Pontefract and Windsor in the U.K.and from Ireland Rposcommon, where there is a mixed card (3 flat races, 3 N.H., one bumper). Most interesting runner here is Tony Martin´s versatile Leg Spinner (Robbie Colgan), who contests the 2 miles hurdle race at 20.40 CET. At Pontefract there is a listed race for older fillies and mares over a mile at 21.20 which has attracted 12 runners, including Bahia Breeze (Rae Guest/ Richard Mullen), whoi finished a close 8th in a Group Three on Saturday. St her best she has a chamce in tis race, which she won in 2006, while Treat (Ryan Moore), one of two Ed Dunlop entries, looks the obvuous favourite, even though she has not run since last July. On recent form, last-time-out winers Fondled (James Fanshawe/ Jamie Spencer) and Kasumi (Hughie Morrison/ Travis Block) must be given a chance. Block is still an apprentice and unable to claim here, but gets on really well with this mare, in fact as ridden her to all 5 of her wins so far. The interesting feature of Windsor´s usual Monday evening fixture is that Frankie Dettori comes for just two rides- Valrhona for Jeremy Noseda in the 120 furlongs handicap at 20.30 and Monsieiur Renard for Brian Meehan in the 5 furlongs handicap for 3yo´s half an hour later- and it is quite possible that he could win both, although Mullein, representing the Oaks winning team of Ralph Beckett and Seb Sanders, looks a big danger in the latter event.
