Pontefract and Wolverhampton

Typical Monday racing today, with poor fields this afternoon on turf at Pontefact and on the all-weather at Wolverhampton. At the latter track, Precision Break (Paul Cole/ John Egan) appeals as the best bet of the day in the class 5 handicap for 3yo´s at 16.30 CET over 1 1/2 miles. He has wo his last 3 races, all on turf, and while this is his first experience of Wolverhampton, the opposition does not look strong and he can complete his four-timer. The 2yo maiden over 7 furlongs an hour later shoild concern mainly Talking Hands (Sylvester Kirk/ Seb Sanders) and Seminole (John Gosden/ Robert Havlin), both of whom were runners-up last time. Talking Hands is now preferred, especially as Seminole is equipped with first-time blinkers, not always a positive sign with inexperienced
2yo´s. At Pontefract, the class 3 race for 2yo´s over 6 furlongs at 16.15 is quite interesting, as all 5 runners are already winners. Indian Art (Richard Hannon/ Pat Dobbs) just beat In Transit (Mick Channon/ Marc Geran) at Goodwood 6 weeks ago and meet on the same terms; they have both run well since and can fight out the finish. The fillies handicap, also over 6 furlongs, half an hour later looks quite open. The consistent Dorn Dancer (Derek Barker/ Danielle McCreery) finally got her head in front 9 days agao at Haydock under this rider after several nar misses. She holds Misphire (Michael Dods/ Darryll Holland) on that form, while Mango Music (Mick Quinn/ Franny Norton) and Loose Caboose (Alan McCabe/ Neil Pollard) must also be considered, even though they are badly drawn.
