No Whit Monday

Whit Monday is no longer celebrated in Britain, so it is a normal ay today, with the usual poor Monday cards. There is flat racing this afternoon at Redcar, Yamouth and Wolverhampton (all-weather), and this evening at Windsor as well as a N.H.meeting at Towcester and a mixed card from Killarney in Ireland. Easily the best race of the day is the listed event for older horses over a mile at 19.55 CET this evening at Windsor. An interesting runner here is the Queen´s Banknote (Andrew Balding/ Francis Norton), winner a year ago of the Badener Meile. That form would give him a great chace here, and possibly the owner will make the short journey from the castle up on the hill to watch him run. The main dangers are Metropolitan Man (David Simcock/ Richard Mullen) and Dunelight (Clive Cox/ Adam Kirby).
