Haydock main meeting

Haydock Park stages the best racing today, with 2 listed races and a Group Three on the card. The listed races areboth over 6 furlongs, with the race for 3yo´s kicking off the programme at 15.10 CET. Fat Boy (Peter Chapple-Hyam/ Tom Queally) holds Tajdeef (Barry and Michael Hills), but a bigger threat should be Swiss Franc (David Elsworth/ Ryan Moore), who has not run for 9 months but had good form to his credit as a juvenile and now gets 3 pounds from Fat Boy. The listed race for fillies and mares over 6 furlongs at 15.45 looks quite open, although Andrew Balding´s Dark Missile will probably start clear favourite, especially as she gets on well with today´s jockey Hayley Turner. However Jeremy Noseda´s pair Francesca d´Gorgio (Steve Drowne) and Perfect Polly (Shane Kelly), Henry Cecil´s improving Crystany (Tom Queally), and especially the unbeaten Irish raider Aine (Tommy Stack/ Wayne Lordan) cannot be left out of calculations. The Group Three John of Gaunt Stakes over 7 furlongs at 16.15 looks more straightforward. Major Cadeaux (Ruchard Hannon/ Ryan Moore) was a Group Two winner over a mile last time out, and although he is penalised for that, it is still the best form in the race and today´s distance is ideal. Appalachian Trail (Linda Perratt/ Fergal Lynch) was a very easy listed CD winner 3 weeks ago and is next best.
