Kempton and Dundalk

There are two meetings on the all-weather this evening, at Dundalk in Ireland and Kempton. The Irish track has the better card, and John Oxx can take the 3yo maiden at 20.40 CET with the promising Hanoverian Baron (Mick Kinane), while the 1 1/2 miles maiden for older horses at 22.40 should go to Megans Joy, a smart hurdler having her first run on the flat. Best bet of the day is Kevin Prendergast´s Dimenticata (Chris Hayes) in the fillies mile race at 21.40; a repetition of the form showed when dividing Finsceal Beo and Peeping Fawn in last year´s Irtish 1000 Guineas would make her unbeatable here, although she was disappointing a couple of times afterwards. The most valuable race on the card is the 3yo handicap at 21.10. This looks tricky, and 4 of the 8 runners have already won at the track this year. Possibly Ready to Rocknroll (Jom Gorman/ Fran Berry), runner-p a the Curragh last time, can now go one better. At Kempton, the best race is the class 4 handicap over 6 furlongs at 21.50. Holbeck Ghyll (Andrew Balding/ William Buick) won here in good style last time out, but that was over 5 furlons, and over today´s trip top-weight Valery Borzov (David Nicholls/ Jamie Spencer), sporting a first-time visor, looks a big danger. Today´s Irish N.H. meeting at Tipperary has been abandoned, as the track is unraceable.
