Catterick and Nottingham

Flat racing in the U.K. today on turf a Catterick and Nottingham, and the latter track hasasoly the best card, including a listed event over 1 3/4 miles at 16.40 CET. Several of the runners are coming off a long break s the form is difficult to sum up. Frank Sonata (Mick Quinlan/ Tom Queally) wo this in 2006 and would havea great chance on his efforts that year, but is now running for the first time in 17 months.

There is very little between Spanish Hidalgo (John Dunlop/ Jimmy Fortune) and Veenwowden (Ed Vaughan/ Ryan Moore) on last autumn´s form. while Gull Wing (Michael Bell/ Richard Mullen), who is stepping up in trip, is another with prospects. Another smart performer hoping to repeat an earlier win here is Reverence (Eric Alston/ Jimmy Quinn), who won the 5 furlongs cnditions race, due off at 16.10, in 2006 and went to take 2 Group One races on soft ground.

He can make a winning comeback at the expense of Sonny Red (Richard Hannon/ Richard Hughes), runner-up in a big field over 6 furlongs at the recent Lincoln meeting at Doncaster. Another Doncaster runner-up is Puy d´Arnac (Alan Swinbank/ Robert Winston), who goes for the 1 3/4 miles handicap at Catterick at 16.20. CD specialist Hernando´s Boy (Keith Reveley/ Paul Hanagan) looks the main danger.
